RE: Automakers - Bail them out or let them fold?

Also I like how you have seperated "Cost of Living" and "Pay Raise" from each other. So 3% increase in wage is not a raise to you? Anyone else think that way?
Just curious, what is a UAW healthplan like? What do you pay for your family coverage monthly? Co-pays or no? Just trying to get a idea if I have a overexageratted (sp) view of Union pay or not.
I would personally call a "cost of living increase" a "RAISE" because that is what it is. You are getting more money than you did before.....that is a raise. I would also like a UAW union employee to shed some light on the healthcare situation. Maybe my idea of their situation is not correct.

RE: Automakers - Bail them out or let them fold?

mxz7, WOuld you buy a car that some unskilled worker slapped together in unfair working conditions for 7.50 an hour ? As long as its cheap to buy, it don't matter to you right? What about health care ? Do you have it where you work or do you have to pay for it outta your 7.50 an hour wage?
So just because someone is not UNION they are UNSKILLED? I don't agree with that logic at all. Quality does matter to me, and I prefer GM trucks. I think unions had an important place before labor laws, but their need may be diminished in this day and age. I guess I would have to see the "unfair working conditions" that GM/Ford/Chrylser would provide without unions.

RE: Automakers - Bail them out or let them fold?

I think we should let the big 3 fold, re-organize without the costly union labor/healthcare and start over. Without all of the union stuff hanging over their heads I think they would be in much better shape. It is going to suck for some people, but we have to look at what is best for the majority. I don't think wages are the issue, but rather the "legacy costs". Very tough call to make here

RE: HEY ALL YOU DRUNKEN SLEDDERS

When I am President I will cut down almost every tree in Vilas Co. and turn it into a ATV/MX Park for kids.
I'll give you a hand if you need any help. Clear-cutting Presque Isle/Mani Waters/Winchester/BJ/Lando would be awesome. Vilas Co. can lick my azz.

RE: Smokin while sleddin?

Saw a guy rippin' around here last winter on a mid 90's Cat while smoking. He was wearing a mid 70's helmet(and sweet leather suit) with the big bubble face shield. He had it flipped up and the cig was hanging in his mouth. Luckily he had a big beard to catch all of the hot ashes before they burned his face. That would be my suggestion. Good luck

RE: 1st place, its what we do

Waukesha West? pppfft
Wauk.West was a corn field when I was in high school. They wrecked a perfectly good pheasant/bunny & deer hunting spot when they built that place. The joke amongst the kids now is that West is the place to go if you want the good drugs. LOL
went screamin thru your neighborhood last Thursday and Sunday on the way to Mercer & back... did you see me?
I did not see you
West was built on a corn field, but when I was there all the land around it was still farms.....now it is one big subdivision. It is amazing how much development has gone on in the area(Waukesha/Wales/Oconomowoc/etc.). My question is where are the people coming from to justify all of the new subdivisions in the greater Milwaukee area? Everywhere you go down there you see a new development. Kinda sucks. I grew up on Farmview Ct., and you could see a farm from our house (in 1984). Now there are three different subdivisions and some condos. I remember when Merrill Hills Rd. was country. Damn the bad luck

RE: 1st place, its what we do

as of right now, Butler Middle School THEN Waukesha North (same as me and mom - 1986) we live down the block from Hawthorne School near where the Sentry Store was.
North finally put a whippin on someone else for a change last Friday 50-28... sorry to hear it was your Wauk. South Black Shirts.
I tried to convince him to go to North, West, KM, CMH, anywhere for football except South, but he was having none of it. He has aspirations of playing college ball like every JR in H.S.
You should have tried harder to keep him outta South.....what an armpit-hahahahaha. I was lucky enough to have West built in time for my sophmore year or I would have been stuck at North. I don't care what anyone says.....purple and baby blue are kinda faggy. BETHESDA/BUTLER/WEST RULES!!!!!!!
I remember the 6th grade run at Minooka and was good enough to finish 43rd. Damn the bad luck-LOL
Looking back I kinda miss the 'Sha and all the happy times
Yeah an armpit for most sports I would agree....but NOT for their Academics, at least not for my kids. The oldest is a Senior at UW-Madison, second one a Sophmore at Lawrence(only football player in South's history to have a 4.0 gpa thru 4 years of H.S.), and the other two will probably be able to go to any school of their choice too.
Sounds like you have some good kids! That's awesome. Where in Waukesha are ya? I grew up in Merrill Crest

Are you serious? I am not a fast food person, but Culvers is the SHIZZ! I just found out that one of my customers owns 7 stores in Wisconsin.

Pro V1 is the best ball on the market right now. If you are looking for a nice cheap ball the Maxfli Noodle works great. Soft feel around the green is key

RE: Hey Riggatonni

Hey Riggs.....when is your large parce of undeveloped land going to become a subdivision? Seems to be the cool thing to do out there now
When they pry it from my cold dead hands.
Mark Chmura (CHEWY from the Packers) lives in 1 of those 10 acre esates across the road from there. He's a good neighbor, we've givin him permission to goose hunt our place in the late season (him & Doc).
Any developer in his right mind would stay far far away from there after they start diggin a few foundations 'round that acreage... I got shallow graves all over that joint, they'd piss themselves.
Glad to hear someone is actually interested in stopping the urban sprawl western Waukesha has experienced in the last 10+years. Wonder when Chewy moved from Bristlecone Pines?
